WorldSSP Portimao: yet another double for Andrea Locatelli and it is a record!

For the first time in WorldSBK’s history, a rider won the first five races in a row in the WorldSSP, never until in the paddock Andrea Locatelli have come.

The young Airohrider rider from Bergamo riding the R6 of Evan Bros WorldSSP Team after taking the pole position, the third on the three planned he has signed another double scored enhanced with fast laps in the race that together with the one of Jerez de la Frontera and the opening race in Phillip Island, he extends the winning series to five.

Hard to find adjectives for what Andrea done in the track and that confirms he the leader in the world ranking with 125 maximum points, 35 points clear of Cluzel the French rider and 63 points over Mahias.

We’ve also to underline the beautiful race2 of Manuel Gonzalez, Airohrider current World Champion of WorldSSP300 passed this year to the higher category, that with the sixth position achieved after a tight battle with Ottl e Perorari, he achieved the best result of the season. In Portimao Maria Herrera raced as a wild card, normally engaged in the MotoE World Championship; Maria riding a Honda CBR600 finished both races just outside the points.

About the WorldSSP300 we report that the best performance came from Mika Perez that finished the race on Saturday in seventh place while on Sunday closed sixth.
