The Most circuit hosted the Czech Grand Prix, the sixth round of WorldSBK 2021 and the 50th different circuit in the history where the derivate series championship had raced.
Manuel Gonzalez and Airoh continue to write the history of this sport. The rider from Madrid after being the youngest ever on road World Champion in 2019, winning the title of SSP300, he is confirmed as the youngest poleman and the youngest rider able to get on the podium in the history of WorldSSP.
It worth to underline that Manuel was also unlucky on Saturday race, at the end of which he came second, while he was fighting for the victory was displayed the red flag that effectively closed the race in advance, foreclosing this opportunity. On Sunday instead, the Spanish Airohrider was the protagonist of a beautiful fight with his brand mates Aegerter and Odendaal who saw him finish at the third place. Pole position, two podiums and a quick lap are in any case an excellent score for this Czech trip. In the championship rankings, with seven rounds to go, Manuel is currently fourth with 120 points.
Equally interesting the weekend of Andrea Locatelli riding the official Yamaha R1 in SBK; Andrea was the protagonist of three beautiful races that ended with the third place and two placements just off the podium.
Andrea Locatelli: “This has been our best weekend, because we made the podium and two fourth places – we also take some good points and this is important for the championship position because we are in eighth position and not so far from P4, which is not so bad! The feeling with the bike now is coming more and more easy. I can ride and I can push, and for sure we now have a lot of races coming up where I think we can do very well. We had a good test in Navarra, and after we go Magny-Cours where I had a really good feeling last year, and also Barcelona, Jerez are such good tracks. I think overall I have a little bit more experience compared to the start of the season, and I can fight with the first group. I improve a lot and this weekend we are really happy, we didn’t make any mistakes and the team did a really good job. I’m so happy with the whole team, we work so well together and the relationship is nice, like a small family and we aim to continue this way. Now, we will see for the next race!”
Always in Most, as the same time as WSBK races, was held the fourth round of the Yamaha R3 blue cru European Cup; in both races that as usual were run on Saturday, Marc Vich Gil in the first and Iker Garcia at the end of the second took the third step of the podium. For Marc it was the first podium of the season while Iker, with the points achieved, consolidates his leadership of the standings at 146 points, 22 lengths more than his closest opponent, the slovakian Repak, all of this when there are four more races until the end of the championship.
Changing scenery, excellent also the weekend of David Alonso engaged on the Redbull Ring of Spielberg in the Redbull KTM Rookies Cup; the young rider from Colombia finished third at the end of Race1 while with over four seconds on the nearest pursuer, won Race2 consolidating even more its leadership in the championship.
In Great Britain, however, and specifically on the track of Cadwell Park, the crew of Alan Founds and Jack Lowther get on the podio trice in as many heats, two third places and a second, at the FSRA British Sidecar Championship; following the results achieved over the past weekend, Alan&Jack are now in the second place of the championship standings.
